Fjällräven Polar
Start: 2003 and 2004
Case story: The spectacular 330 km dogsledding race, from Norway's coastline over the mountains to Swedish Jukkasjärvi. was to be filmed and I had the fortunate opportunity to be part of the film team.
We followed the contestants day and night from start to the finnish line. A documentary film was then produced and broadcasted internationally.
The route from Signaldalen by the Norwegian coastline over to Jukkasjärvi in Sweden.
The contestants were all beginners and some experienced their first ever dogsledding and mountain touring in winter time.
The contestants slept in tents, fixed their own food and the food for their dogs.
The contestants came from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
The dogs are doing a powerful job by pulling all the weight... and then sleeping outdoor.
